Nintendo Pictonico (stylized as "Pictonico!") is a free-to-start photo-based minigame app developed by Nintendo and Intelligent Systems. It is scheduled to launch on May 28, 2026 for iOS and Android.
The core concept: the app pulls photos from your camera roll — portraits, group shots, selfies — and drops them into short, fast-paced microgames. Think WarioWare but with your own face as the subject. Pluck a nose hair. Peel a face mask. Catch food with an open mouth.
The free demo includes a curated selection of minigames. Two paid volumes — $7.99 and $5.99— unlock the full library of up to 80 minigames.
Based on Nintendo's official trailers and announcements
Pull out unwanted hairs from your photo — a frantic tweezing race against the clock.
Peel a face mask off your photo as quickly as possible without tearing it.
Tap to open your mouth in your photo and catch falling food items.
Slide a zipper shut across the mouth in your photo before someone speaks.
Swipe creatures off your face before they reach your eyes.
A daily fortune reading minigame that changes based on your photo.
Spread across two paid volumes, with new minigames arriving after launch.
Progress through a map of minigame stages. Each stage introduces a new game or bumps up the difficulty.
Three difficulty settings — Normal, High-Speed, and Danger Zone (one mistake ends your run). Chase high scores.
A daily surprise minigame. What fortune does your face hold today? Changes every 24 hours.

Nintendo Pictonico (officially "Pictonico!") is a free-to-start photo minigame app from Nintendo and Intelligent Systems. It pulls photos from your camera roll and transforms them into short WarioWare-style microgames — up to 80 in total across the base demo and two paid volumes.
Nintendo Pictonico is scheduled for release on Thursday, May 28, 2026 on iOS and Android. Pre-order is available on the Apple App Store; pre-registration is open on Google Play.
The base app is free to download. Volume 1 is $7.99 USD and Volume 2 is $5.99 USD, for a full unlock cost of $13.98 USD. These are one-time purchases — no subscription.
Pictonico was developed by Intelligent Systems (creators of WarioWare, Fire Emblem, Paper Mario) in collaboration with Nintendo. It is Intelligent Systems' first premium-paid mobile title since they shifted to mobile with Fire Emblem Heroes in 2017.
According to Nintendo, Pictonico processes images locally on your device and does not upload photos to external servers. The game reads from your camera roll but the AI analysis stays on-device.
At launch, Pictonico is confirmed for the US App Store and Google Play. Nintendo has stated additional regions will be added as the storefront rolls out. Players outside the initial regions may need to wait or use a US account.
Nintendo Pictonico has up to 80 minigames total. The free demo includes a selection of minigames. Volume 1 and Volume 2 unlock the remaining games. Each minigame uses your personal photos in a unique way.
